As a professor of political science, I see every day the stress, anger, fear, sadness and shame that people carry regarding the state of our society and our government. Not only is it taking a toll on individuals, but it’s driving people apart. Conflict and hatred seem to rule the day in our political discourse. In this video I ask Kristy Arbon, Administrative Director at the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion and CEO and Lead Teacher for Heartworks Training, about how those of us who still wish to remain engaged in public life can take care of ourselves and help to heal some of the deep divisions in our society.
